The city of Churdan will mark Independence Day with Tunes and Treats in the city park. The Churdan public library board and staff will serve ice cream sundaes, brownies and root beer floats starting at 6:30 pm. A free will donation will be accepted, with proceeds going to ongoing programming and operating expenses.
The Town and Country Band will play summertime and patriotic favorites in the gazebo at 7 pm. “The Churdan Fourth of July is the best bit of Americana around,” one band member said. “There’s no better place to be for the Fourth.”
Lawn chairs are suggested for Tunes and Treats.
In Jefferson, a fireworks display will be launched from Wild Rose Casino Monday at dusk, at 9:30 – 10 pm. The display is co-sponsored by Wild Rose Casino and Resorts and the city of Jefferson.
